GREENVILLE—J. Keith Hairston, 71, of Greenville, KY died on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 12:13 AM at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville with family surrounding him. Keith was born on October 23, 1953, in Milam County, Texas, the son of James Curtis and Annie Grace Wood Hairston. Keith moved to Kentucky to continue working for Reed Minerals in 1983. He retired in 2015. Keith worked for Clark Security until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Linda Purswell, Sue Blankenship, and granddaughter Ember Oglesby.
Keith is survived by his wife of 39 years, Vicki Parsons Hairston; his step-children, Tori Grace and Kayne (Camille) Grace; his grandchildren, Dalton Oglesby, Deanna Oglesby (Jay Mullens), Keira (Daniel) Elitzer, Tucker (Chelsey) Oglesby, Hannah Grace, and Samuel Grace; great grandchildren, Derian and Karoline Elitzer, Laker Browning, and Stevie Taylor; sister, Pat (William) Goins; brothers, Charles (Doris) Hairston and Joe Hairston; brother-in-law, Don Purswell; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Sunday, December 29 at 3:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Dr. John Galyen officiating. Visitation will be from at Gary’s from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.
