Wilma S. Brey Hancock, 87, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at her stepson’s residence. She was born on December 2, 1931 at Mt. Pleasant in Ohio County, KY to the late James A. Stewart and Allean C. Taful Stewart. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Ohio County and retired from General Electric and MPD after 41 1/2 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Leland C. Brey; her second husband, Wallace G. Hancock Sr.; stepdaughter, Cindy Basham; brothers, Aubrey Stewart, Delmar W. Stewart, Franklin “Jaybird” Stewart, Tony Stewart, and Hurshell A. Stewart; sisters, Mable Stewart, Myrtle Stewart and Christine Arnold.
Survivors include her stepsons, David Hancock (Debbie) and Wallace G. Hancock Jr.; stepdaughter, Tambra Dunn (Tom); sister, Matilda Lindsey; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
