John “Corey” Quisenberry, 25, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The Daviess County native was born January 11, 1999, to the late Robin Quisenberry and John Quisenberry. Corey graduated from Apollo High School, class of 2017 where he played football and baseball. He was very gifted and mechanically inclined. Corey loved making gadgets and could fix anything. He once took a swing set apart with a butter knife. Corey loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. As an outgoing person, others enjoyed his company and knew him to be a loyal friend, genuine, caring, and respectful.
In addition to his mother, Corey also was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, R.A. and Wanda Butler and his paternal grandfather, James Quisenberry.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Kassie Harmon Quisenberry; sons, Gunner Quisenberry and Lanceton Quisenberry; significant other, Shayna Howard; uncle, Rod Butler (Carla); aunt, Melissa Butler; stepfather, John Quisenberry; stepsiblings, Robert and Chelsey; close cousins, Trey Butler (Skylar), Alexis Boyens (Chris), and Ashely Butler; numerous other cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 until 7:00 pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will have a memorial service at Utica Baptist Church on Monday at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Utica Baptist Church Cemetery.
