
James “Jimmy” Mulligan, Jr., 82, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024. He was born September 21, 1942, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to James Mulligan, Sr. and Claribel Curran Mulligan, and lived at Wendall Foster for nearly 45 years.
Jimmy loved to eat (especially apple pie), enjoyed listening to country music, and taking vacations. His family and friends will remember his joyful laugh, his ability to love everyone, and his love of life.
Along with his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Helen Collignon, his infant brother, Tommy Mulligan, his sister-in-law, Pat Mulligan, and brother-in-law, Paul R. Hayden, Sr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Pat Mulligan and Sally Hayden, of Owensboro, KY, and Bill Mulligan (Jian), of Monterey Park, CA, and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Immaculate Parish, with Fr. John Vaughan officiating. Burial to follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery at 1860 W 9th Street. Friends and family are invited to visitation on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory. Fr. John Thomas will lead in prayer at 6:00 p.m.
The family of Mr. Mulligan extends a deep appreciation to his Wendell Foster family for caring for Jimmy for all these years.
