Alwin John Ronald Meincken 96, of Lewisport passed on to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the Heartford House. Al was born on July 9, 1928 in East Providence, Rhode Island.
He was a member of Hilldale Methodist Church where he was the technology manager

for 29 years. He was an avid fisherman, a bird enthusiast, and knew every gadget available. Al retired from the US Army in 1966. He was a decorated Staff Sergeant, E6 and a WWII Veteran.
Al was a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge, a Scottish Rite Freemason, and a member of the Shriners. He was also bestowed the honor of Kentucky Colonel. In 1966 he received appointment as Honorable Deputy Sheriff and awarded Outstanding Contribution to Hancock County. Al devoted numerous hours to his community serving in many ways.

He became involved in United Way as President in Hancock County, served as President of Hancock County Chamber of Commerce for two years, served on the Hancock County Planning and Zoning board for three years, and served on the Industrial Foundation as secretary for three years.

Survivors include his Wife Norma Meincken; a son John (Frieda) Meincken of Russell Springs, KY; grandchildren Brooke (Marcus) Bartrug of Russell Springs, KY, Alex (Jessica) Meincken of Mount Washington, KY, Nicholas Hollifield of Louisville, KY and seven great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his first wife, Isabella Lees Meincken. His father and mother, Harold and Winifred Meincken

A Memorial Service will be held at Noon, Friday, November 15, 2024 at Hilldale Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 11:00 am till the service time Friday at the church.
