John P. Christian, 83, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Hosparus Health Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky. John was born on April 28, 1941 in Owensboro to the late Charles Christian and Dorothy Christian. He was co-owner of Town & Country Market and retired from Century Aluminum. John was a 1960 graduate of Owensboro Senior High. He was a Breakfast Club Member at JD’s Diner and Kim’s Diner. In his earlier years, he served as the Chairman of Board at Yellow Creek Park in its inception, and he enjoyed coaching baseball at Thruston and Eastern Little League.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Chandler DeWayne Jones; sister, Elsie Velotta; and two brothers, Jimmy Christian and Gerald Christian.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Brenda Thomason Christian; son, Darren (Kelly) Christian and their children, Eli Christian, Oliver Christian, and Emeri Christian; daughter, Jill (Rick) Jones and their children, Christian Jones and Kailee Jones; one great-grandchild, Bentley; and a brother, Jody Christian.
Services will be at 2:00pm on Monday, November 11, 2024 at James H Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
