Regina Murphy Lewis, 89, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Carmel Home. She was born in Reed, KY, on April 13, 1935, to parents, Joseph T. and Augusta Bickwermert Murphy. Regina was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral.
With a faith-filled heart, Regina will be remembered as someone selfless, giving, and nurturing to all she encountered. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and praying the rosary daily.
Along with her parents, Regina was preceded in death by her husband, B.W. Lewis; son, Paul Lewis; siblings, Bernard (Mary Helen) Murphy, Charles (Irene) Murphy, Lawrence Murphy, Herbert (Ruby) Murphy, Raymond Murphy, Eileen (Bob) Gochenouer, Frances (Bernard) Head, and Mary Emma (Jay) Blair; and brother-in-law, William Allender.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, David Lewis, of Nashville, and Carl (Kim) Lewis, of Owensboro; grandchildren, Claire (Tucker) Scott, Clayton Lewis, Christopher Lewis, and Carson Lewis; great-granddaughter, Vivienne Scott; sister, Mildred Allender; and sisters-in-law, Dolores Murphy and Mary Evelyn Murphy.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at St. Stephen Cathedral, with Fr. John Thomas and Fr. John Vaughan officiating. Burial to follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visitation on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory. Fr. Ray Clark will lead in prayer at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the funeral home, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
