Ruby Catherine Wheatley, age 95 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away October 22, 2024, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was born in Breckinridge County on July 11,1929, daughter of the late James Vincent and Elizabeth Pearl Jolly Flood. Ruby was the oldest member of St. Romuald Catholic Church and served on the Altar Society. She was a retired employee of St. Romuald School cafeteria. Ruby loved her family and looked forward to visits from them. She was a wonderful cook who felt that you should eat each time you walked through her door. She enjoyed reading, watching game shows and working zigsaw puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Pat Wheatley, her granddaughter Heather Higdon and her siblings Bernard, Harold, Larry, Bobby, Mary Eliza, Agnes and Judy.
Ruby is survived by her devoted children: Sheila Ann Drane (Dan) of Hardinsburg, KY; Keith Patrick Wheatley of Hardinsburg, KY; Stephen Gerard Wheatley (Teri) of Elizabethtown, KY; Thomas Joseph Wheatley (Karen) of Clarkson, KY; David Wheatley of Hardinsburg, KY and Lisa Michelle Armes (Richard) of Shepherdsville, KY
7 grandchildren: Dana Johnson (Brad), Amanda Drane, Christi Brooks (Jason), Amy Haley (Adam), Matthew Wheatley (Nicole), Kelsey Knott (Blake) and Hannah Knipper (Nik)
8 great grandchildren: Coleman Rubino, Colton and Hayden Brooks, Charlotte and Lennon Wheatley, Leo Knipper, Jaxon and Clair Higdon
1 sister: Shirley Manning of Shepherdsville, KY

Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11 AM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, 4-8 PM and Friday after 8 AM. The rosary will be recited at 7 PM on Thursday. All times are central.
