GREENVILLE, KY., Cora Mae Chandler, 93, of Greenville was born on September 22, 1931 in Muhlenberg County to the late Fonzo and Ivyle (Wells) Boggess. Cora graduated in 1950 from Graham High School and in 1952 she married Delbert Chandler and they celebrated 53 years of marriage before Delbert’s death in 2005. She was a former employee of General Electric, Emerson Electric, Cowden Manufacturing Co., and Snow White Laundry. Cora enjoyed working outdoors, working puzzles, gardening, reading, and shopping. She attended Olive Grove General Baptist Church.
Besides her husband and parents, Cora was preceded in death by her son-in-law David Winn and sister Wanda Summers.
Cora is survived by her daughter Sharon Winn of Greenville, her brother Ray Boggess of Greenville, her sister Sue Wright of Cary, NC., numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cora was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral at Gary’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY. With Bro. J.W. Haire officiating and assisted by Bro. Bradley Brown. Burial will follow in Olive Grove Cemetery in Greenville, KY.
