GREENVILLE, KY., Edgar “Eddie” Sterling Richey, 79, of Greenville passed away on Monday, October 7 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. He was born in Greenville on October 23, 1944 the only child of the late Chester Edgar Richey and Essie Jane Crick Richey. He had worked for Lester Motors in Central City for 20 years and after his retirement he was a handyman and did odd jobs for many people in Greenville.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Mary Mayes Richey of Greenville, a son Steve (Bridget) Richey of LaGrange, 5 grandchildren Ryan (Ashley) Murphy, Karlie (Ben) McIntyre, Parker Richey, Katherine Richey, and Jocelyn Richey, 4 great grandchildren Jackson, Meredith, Brooke, and Finnegan.
Friends may call after 11:00 AM until time of the funeral on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY officiated by Rev. Tom Stovall. Burial will follow in Carter Creek Cemetery in Greenville.
