
Bernard Allen Wethington, 66, of Lewisport, KY passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on October 11, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and four daughters.
Bernard was born January 14, 1958, in Cloverport, KY at his home, the son of the late Maurice and Sally Dukes Wethington. Bernard worked many different jobs throughout his life. He was a farm hand, deck hand, mechanic, and construction worker.
Bernard married Margaret Ford on July 4, 1975. They have spent every day since in love and enjoying each other’s company. They have four daughters, thirteen grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren with more on the way.
Bernard was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching the elk of Eastern KY. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, passing on his love for the outdoors to his grandchildren. Bernard loved to watch John Wayne films, McLintock being one of his favorites and woodworking with his wife.
Remaining to cherish Bernard’s memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Margaret Ford Wethington; four daughters Laura (Todd) McCollam, Amanda (Robert) Scott, Edna Cooper, Sue (RJ) Simpson, 13 grandchildren, Keaton McCollam, Trey Shaffer, Colby Stagner, Donald and Wyman Scott, Tyler (Amber) Cooper, Arthur (Kirsten) Cooper, Emilee (Jeffery) Bernardi, Maggie (Dakota Kennedy) Cooper, Shelby Cooper, Ryan, Peyton, and Jase Simpson, 7 great grandchildren, two brothers Ed (Marcella) Wethington, Charlie Wethington, one sister Betty Mangum, a special sister-in-law Kathleen Dawson and her children, Matt Thrasher, Brittany Neihaus, Emma Burgess and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Bernard in death his parents Maurice and Sally Wethington, a brother Paul Wethington Sr., and a sister Nancye Wells, a son-in-law James Cooper and a great-grandson Alex Cooper.
