
Richard “Rich” Dushane Morrow, 57, of Owensboro, KY, passed away Monday, September,16, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Richard, known by his close friends as “Rich,” was born December 2, 1966 to Barbara Winstead and Jesse Richards. He was a graduate of Owensboro senior high school and a veteran of the United States Navy.
Richard was a die-hard, Dallas Cowboys fan. He cherished dining with his grandchildren at New China Buffet and treasured the times he would take them to the library where they would choose books together. He was affectionately known as “PawPaw Rich” to them. Often you would find him playing on the Play Station when he was not telling anyone that would listen, “that with his looks he was at the top of the food chain.”
Richard leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Barbara Winstead; children Jazmyne Harper, K’lynn Morrow, and Trevin Wilkerson; six grandchildren Emory Morrow, Kobe Peak, Kamirrah Morrow, Almarriel Talbott, Cash Talbott, and Evie Hagon; brother Jerry Winstead; sisters L’tonia, Lavinna (Lay-Lay) Palmer, and a sister in Indianapolis, IN; an uncle, Bobby McCormick (Mary Helen); his partner Debbie McClaster; and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his stepfather William “Boots Brown” Winstead, son Chanson Morrow, aunts, Carolyn Cooper Barns, Gracie Holt, Diane Sherman, Mary McCormick, uncles, Hershall Morrow, Eddie McCormick, and recently Herman McCormick, brothers, Larry (DIZ) Winstead, Robert Johnson, and sister, Bonnie Morton.
A memorial service to honor the life of Richard Morrow will follow military honors performed by Local VFW Post 696 and US Navy Funeral Honor Detail at noon on Saturday October 19, 2024 at McFarland Funeral Home, 1001 W 5th St, Owensboro, KY 2301. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to Noon at the funeral home.
