David Allen Winkler, 80, of Whitesville passed away at his home on Sunday, October 13, 2024. David was born on May 6, 1944 in Daviess County to the late Rupert L. and Catherine J. McCarthy Winkler. He was a free-lance entrepreneur. He loved horses and animals of all kinds.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 sons, Allen and Michael Winkler, a brother, Robert Winkler and a son-in-law, Rob Welborn, Dawn’s late husband.
David is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maria Winkler; children, David P. Winkler, Scott and Wanda Winkler and Dawn Welborn; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Patricia and Ted Brooks and Debie and David McMahan and several nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel. Visitation will be on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the rosary being said at 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, KY.
