Kathlene Elizabeth Brown, 47, of Owensboro, passed away September 24, 2024. She was born March 7, 1977 in Red Bank, New Jersey. Kathlene was a devout Christian woman and a member of Christ Gospel Church where she held the positions of secretary, treasurer, board member, children’s ministry volunteer, event planner and so much more. She was a regular volunteer at Daviess County Animal Care and Control and the organizer of the cat adoption at PetSmart, having personally helped seven animals find their forever home. Known as a true “boss lady”, Kathlene had a gift for bringing people together and leading by example. Kathlene also adopted two children as her own. Her family, those blood or chosen, brought her life joy and she shared her love freely with them. She was a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin, niece, aunt, friend…and she will be missed dearly.
Kathlene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don Brown; mother, Charlene Lawrence; and grandparents, Harry and Charlotte Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Emma and Hanna Brown; six stepchildren; siblings, Jolene Aycock, James Lawrence, Heather Slater, C.J. Lepley, Faith Lepley, and Hope Lepley; aunt and uncle, Judy and Smitty (Harry) Smith; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family and friends.
