David Mack Hocker was born in McLean County, Kentucky on February 19, 1953; the son of Eloise and Virgil Paul Hocker, both deceased. Surrounded by many loved ones, on September 14, 2024, David left us to meet his Lord and Savior, whom he loved and served.
As pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, he provided space for the opening of the first Christian school offering Christian education, Kindergarten through Twelfth Grades (K-12), Valor Christian Academy. After serving as pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church and Greenbriar Baptist Church, he retired from full-time pastorship. However, he continued to serve the Lord preaching at retirement homes such as The Rosevelt House and Garden Grace. He loved studying and sharing The Good News. If he wasn’t preaching, he was reading the Word and books by Christian authors. His greatest joy was his family. Nothing could bring a smile to his face like his children and grands, and of course his Angel – as he called her – his wife of fifty-six years. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army as Private First Class, enlisted for four years serving in Germany for two of those years.
Those left to cherish the memory of David include his wife, Linda Hocker; Children, Aron Hocker (Brandy), Runae (Darren) Faulkner; Grandchildren, Blaise Hocker, Colton (Candie) Hocker, Brittany Calloway, Kirsty (Josh) Warren, Arianna, and Alexis Faulkner; Great Grandchildren, Presley and Mark Warren, Caelan and Gabriel Hocker; Great Granddaughter Ellie Hocker; Siblings Roger Dale (Ann) Hocker, Danny (Mary) Hocker, Keith Wayne (Connie) Hocker, Tammy (Jeff) London, Kelly (Jerry) Baugh.
