Carolyn Wilcheck, age 85 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away August 24, 2024 at Breckinridge Memorial Nursing Facility. She was born in Falls of Rough, KY on September 15, 1938, daughter of the late William Ahl and Agnes Sheeran Beard. Carolyn was a devout catholic and a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church for over 66 years. She was very active in her church and was involved in several ministries with the church, such as Lector, RCIA, Altar Society, Radio ministry, Parish Council member, Church Women United, Emmaus Walk and Al-Anon Family Group meetings.
Carolyn was a homemaker who raised her four sons on the family farm, tending to their daily needs. Once they married and had homes of their own, she began work in the public sector starting as a clerk in the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s office, then moving to the Breckinridge County Clerk’s Office, where she retired in 2004 after 19 years of service. Carolyn never met a stranger and made friends easily. She stayed in touch with them and was always interested in their families. Her family was her world – she enjoyed having them for meals, as cooking was one of her passions, but most importantly, she just loved being with them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ron Wilcheck, son Joey Brumfield, granddaughter Sarah E. Brumfield and great grandsons Christian M. and David Wayne Brumfield.
Carolyn is survived by 4 sons: Rudy Brumfield, Jr. (Kathy), Scott Brumfield (Butchie), Andy Brumfield (Connie) and Davy Brumfield (Kim) of Hardinsburg, KY.
8 grandchildren: Chris Brumfield, Billy Brumfield (Jennifer), Whitney Roach (John), Ashley Adams (Roger), Joseph Brumfield (Dana), Eric Brumfield (Corey Geiger), Robin Haycraft (Gavin), Brian David Brumfield (Kristen)
