Norma Joan “Jo” Wood, 88, of Owensboro died Friday, April 12, 2019 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. Jo was born in Miami County, Indiana on November 21, 1930 to the late Bruce Elliott and Lula Hill Elliott. She was a homemaker and a member of Whitesville Baptist Church and Whitesville Lions Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Glenn Wood; a daughter, Glenna Baldwin; a brother, Gene Elliott; and sisters, Wanda Soliday and Dorothy Whitlock.
Survivors include her children, Johnny Wood (Kathleen) of Hickman, KY, Donna Bell (Robert) of Owensboro, and Carla Edge (Ronnie) of Philpot; grandchildren, Steve Westerfield (Tammy), Chris Westerfield (Jennifer), Aaron Bell, Amy Bell, Blake Edge (Andrea), Kelsey King (Mickey), and Jonathan Wood; great-grandchildren, Yasmin Pope, Kaysia and Kortlan Hayden, Brayden Westerfield, Brentlyn Sieren, Kyler Sieren, Lofton Roberts and Hendrick Edge; brothers, Kenneth Elliott (Brenda), Jack Elliott (Judy), and David Elliott (Rita); and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 3:00pm on Monday, April 15, 2019 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Cates Cemetery in Whitesville. Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00am until 3:00pm at the funeral home.
