Shirley Josephine Coffey, age 88 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away July 31, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Louisville, KY on September 30, 1935, daughter of the late Ivan Merl and Hallie Selina Hester Sheffield. Shirley was a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was very involved with planning the annual picnic. She enjoyed playing Bingo, crocheting and boating. Family gatherings were very important to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Coffey; daughters Pamela Jo and Vicky and siblings Helen, Charles and Mel.
Shirley is survived by 3 children: Danny Coffey and Deborah Matthews of Hardinsburg, KY and Kathy Masterson (Bill Berkley) of Harned, KY.
7 grandchildren: Chris, Freddie, Neka (Derek), David, Stacey (Donnie), Jerica (Vern) and Charlie.
11 great grandchildren: Karman, Miranda, Holly, Heather, Cameron, Keegan, Raelyn, Ashton, James, Brandon and Brandon
Her fur baby Molly.
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 10 AM with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City, KY. Visitation will be held on Friday, 3:30 – 8 PM and Saturday after 8 AM. All times are central.
