Shirley Dean Estes Prather

Shirley Dean Estes Prather, 80, of Maceo, died on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born October 3, 1938 in Daviess County, KY to the late Albert and Lillian Grace Gillim Estes. Shirley graduated from Daviess County High School and worked at American Tobacco. She was a member of Maceo Baptist Church and Maceo Homemakers Club. She was a homemaker and a loving house mom.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Kevin, who died at birth; five brothers, W.R. Estes, Bill Estes, Ab Estes, George Estes, and Sam Estes.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Ellis Ray Prather; sons, Kelly Prather (Tina Berry) and Kasey Prather (Tracy); grandchildren, Kelly Elizabeth Hulsey (Kenneth), Tyler Prather, Cassidy Prather, Megan Jennings, Chelsea and Marisa Sams; three great-grandchildren, Kaden, Kylie and Cyron; sister, Mary “Libby” Storm; sister-in-law, Betty Harding; and brother-in-law, Bobby Prather.

Services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 in the chapel at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory with Bro. Scott Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
