Bro. Charles Eugene O'Bryan

Bro. Charles Eugene O’Bryan, 81, was led sweetly by his Lord, Savior and friend Jesus Christ, into the glory and holy presence of a loving and faithful Father on Saturday, April 6, in Bowling Green. Gene was born on May 1, 1937 in Louisville to William “Art” and Lillimae O’Bryan. In 1956, he married the love of his life, Marie O’Bryan and was united with her until her death in 2012.

He was a graduate of Brescia College, a businessman, Owensboro Kiwanis past president, and retired as Senior Pastor of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and the Owensboro Public Schools.

Family members left to honor his life and feel his loss are daughter, Joanie O’Bryan and son, Craig O’Bryan, both of Bowling Green; grandsons Corey Flaspoehler of Atlanta, Ga., Caleb Flaspoehler of Fairfield, Ca., Chris O’Bryan of Lexington, Nick O’Bryan of Owensboro; and sister, Rosemary (Rick) Melvin of Florissant, Mo.

Visitation will be held at Walnut Memorial Baptist Church in Owensboro on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Services will be at noon on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Owensboro. James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
