
Reva Mooneyhan 68, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Friday, July 12, 2024 at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun. Reva Dene Sosh was born March 4, 1956 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Woodie Owen and Margaret Alice Coin Sosh and was married to Jack Bennie Mooneyhan, Sr. on December 5, 1970. Reva’s life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and dedication to family.
Before retiring, Reva dedicated herself to the well-being of others through her work as a nurse’s aide. Her compassionate nature and genuine concern for those in her care earned her the respect and gratitude of colleagues and patients alike. Her commitment to service was also evident in her involvement with Nickel Ridge Holiness Church, where she was an active and devoted member.
Those who knew Reva will remember her for the friendly and loving presence she was in their lives. She had a unique ability to make each person feel valued and cared for, a gift she freely shared with her family, friends, and the community. Reva’s love for her family was unparalleled, especially for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored with all her heart. She cherished every moment spent with them and was a guiding light in their lives.
Reva’s love extended to her furry companions as well. She had a special place in her heart for her dogs, who were her loyal friends and confidants. Her nurturing spirit was also evident in the simple pleasures she found in nature. She enjoyed watching and feeding her hummingbirds, a pastime that brought her peace and contentment.
The memories of Reva’s kind words, her gentle embrace, and her infectious smile will be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She was a beacon of love and friendship, and her legacy will continue to inspire those she has left behind.
In addition to her parents, Reva was preceded in death by a son, Jack B. ‘Bub’ Mooneyhan, Jr., who died August 12, 2020.
Reva is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jack Mooneyhan; two daughters, Sherry Gray (Mike) and Julie Webb (Branden) both of Owensboro; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy and laughter to her life.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Nickel Ridge Cemetery in Daviess County. Friends may visit with Reva’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Musters in Calhoun.
