Hillary Elizabeth Thomas, 33, of Owensboro, joined the Lord on June 29, 2024, after battling illnesses for fifteen years and defeating cancer four times. She was born to Dan and Darlene Thomas on February 22, 1991.
Hillary was a sentimental person and animal lover who had two special animals in her life, named Trouble and Murphy. She loved listening to all genres of music and audiobooks, experimenting with various arts and crafts, and frequently indulged in a good lavender latte. Hillary was a devoted and loving aunt to her nephew, Elliott.
In addition to her parents, Hillary is survived by her siblings, Abby (Anthony) Vogt and Katie (Mazden) Tyler, and Josh Thomas; her grandmother, Mary Ann Knott; her nephew, Elliott Vogt; and many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Hillary was preceded in death by her grandparents, William Knott, Raymond Thomas, and Sara Thomas, and her cousin, Taylor Askin.
A Sharing of Memories will take place at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:30 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Fr. Mike Williams will preside over prayers at 6:30 pm, on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations made payable to St. Benedict’s Women and Family Services – Day Shelter located at 905 Hickman Ave. Owensboro, Ky 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
