
Fred John Zinobile, 95, passed away on June 28, 2024, in Owensboro, KY. Born on June 14, 1929, in Swissvale, PA, he embarked on a life marked by dedication to his family, country, and community. Fred graduated from Swissvale High School before earning his degree from the University of Pittsburgh. His commitment to service was evident as he honorably served in the Army during the Korean War.
Professionally, Fred dedicated many years to the Internal Revenue Service, Interstate Clothing Store, and W.T. Grants, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. A devout member of the Immaculate Catholic Church, Fred actively participated in various church activities. He found joy in hobbies such as ballroom dancing, golf, working crossword puzzles and playing bridge and poker, which he shared with friends and family alike.
Fred leaves behind his beloved wife of 69 years, Gloria; and their children, Patty Bowman (Andy) of Indianapolis, IN, Sharon Skee of Bowling Green, KY, Fred Zinobile, Jr. (Niny) of Miami, FL, Mary Roushdi of Nashville, TN, and John Zinobile (Christy) of Bowling Green, KY; he was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren, Mason (Jackie), Ben (Lauren), Hannah, Brian (Rachel), Nick (Gabby), Christopher, Alex, Luke (Lindsey), Mark, Grace, Sarah, Austin (Kristen), Allison; and four great-grandchildren, who will miss him dearly.
A funeral Mass to honor Fred’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Immaculate Catholic Church with Fr. John Vaughan officiating. Entombment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at Immaculate Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army and Immaculate Catholic Church Building Fund in memory of Fred. His legacy of service and compassion continues to inspire all who knew him.
