Carolyn (Carol) Sue Burden, age 82, of Owensboro, Kentucky, peacefully passed away, Monday, June 24, at Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation after a prolonged illness. Carol was a daughter to Curtis and Carlene who preceded her in death.
She was a Daviess County High School graduate, married Mervin and welcomed two children into the world. She worked on the General Electric assembly line, drove a school bus, was a security guard, and even at one point drove an OTS bus. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and rarely ever missed watching a UK basketball game.
Carol is survived by two children, Leigh and husband, Jesse of Louisville, Kentucky, and John of Hawesville, Kentucky; brother, Kay, of Lake Malone; and two grandchildren, Aidan and Blaine.
No service or visitation will be held per Carol’s wishes. Ennichment at Rosehill Cemetery will be private.
Carol’s family would like to extend our gratitude to all the A-wing staff at Chautauqua Nursing Home and Rehabilitation for their love and care during her short few years there.
