
William “Bill” Shelton Sr. 86, of Owensboro, passed away March 29, 2019. William was born in Daviess County on July 6, 1932, to the late Jacob Morgan and Thelma Bray Shelton. Bill was of the Catholic faith and a member of Blessed Mother Church. He was a barber in Owensboro for his entire career, and he owned his shop. Bill was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and tend to his vegetable garden. Most of all Bill enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jacob Price Shelton; and his sisters, Thelma Marksberry, Dottie Thereault, Linda Samperi, and Beverly Kelley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Katie Vanhook Shelton; children, William Stephen Shelton Jr, Beth Shelton and Kisha Adamic (John); sisters, Helen Ruth Atherton, Anita Travis, and Brenda Howard; grandchildren, Danielle, Zachary, Marcy, Joshua, Randy, Dana, Allison, Matt, and April, and a whole host of great-grandchildren.
The funeral Mass will be 1 pm Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Visitation will start at 11 am on Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Saint Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery.
