Gary H. Marsch, 86, of Lewisport, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Lewisport on February 1, 1938 to the late George and Georgia Pearl Holland Marsch. Gary was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, retired from Commonwealth Aluminum and was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed working on his farm, hunting, trapping, UK Basketball, the Golden State Warriors and spending time with family & friends. He loved his grandchildren and adored his great grandson, Remi. Gary was a member of Lewisport Lions Club, Furtakers Association; Board member of Hancock County Farm Bureau and Hancock County Fair Board. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Marsch; great grandson, Easton Duncan; siblings, Sarah Hancock, Eva Howard, Katie Lou Marsch, Robert Marsch, Dexter Marsch and Walter Marsch.
Gary is survived by his children, Kevin (Leigh) Marsch and Melissa (Terry) Grimes; Linda Elder; grandchildren, Holland (Jongwon) Hong, Abigail (Andrew) Bruner, Fielder Walblay and George David Marsch; great grandson, Remi Marsch; sisters, Adrian Howard, Georgene Poole and Mary Buck along with many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at St. Columba Catholic Church with burial following in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Gary’s family will be greeting friends on Tuesday at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport Chapel from 4 pm until 7 pm and on Wednesday at St. Columba from 9 am until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky or St. Columba Catholic Church.
