Janet W. Martin, 74, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born July 25, 1944 in Muhlenburg Co., Ky. Janet was retired from the Swedish Match Co., was a member of Owensboro Christian Church, but had been attending Christ Community Church. She was a member of the Ohio Valley Garden and Pond Club and enjoyed raising flowers. Janet was an avid U.K. basketball fan and loved all her many cats. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Whitaker in 1976, and two sisters, Dorothy Merritt and Jo Anne Westerfield.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Robert Martin, her daughter, Karen Franzell and husband Robert of Maceo, a grandson, Ben Franzell of Auburn, Alabama, and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service for Janet Martin will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 29, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
