Mary Wanda O’Bryan Moss Deahl Wahl, 90, of Owensboro, passed away on June 2, 2024, in the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born on February 25, 1934, to the late James and Martine (Murphy) O’Bryan. Wanda was a loving Head Start Teacher and retired from Glenmore Distillery after more than sixteen years.
Wanda was a loving Grandmother and enjoyed being with her family. She was the oldest daughter of fifteen children and adopted the role of matriarch to the family after her mother passed away.
She was a devout Catholic, who was dedicated to rosary prayers. Wanda enjoyed playing cards, cooking and baking, working in her flower garden, watching golf, loved to read, and was an avid UK fan.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husbands, Herman Moss, Crawford Deahl, and Wilbur Wahl; her great-granddaughter, Angel Combs; her siblings, Jimmy O’Bryan, Terry O’Bryan, Ray O’Bryan, Charlie O’Bryan, Patty Pike, and Judy Daily.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Vickie (Bud) Nickells, Mike Moss, Kathy (Keith) Blandford, and Keith (Lisa) Moss; her siblings, Roger O’Bryan, Larry (Anna) O’Bryan, Joyce Drury, Tommy (Patricia) O’Bryan, Jerry “Mousey” (Judy) O’Bryan, Joe (Marilyn) O’Bryan, Richard (Nancy) O’Bryan, and Danny (Janie) O’Bryan; sister-in-law, Faye O’Bryan; and ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Immaculate Parrish. Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory.
