James “Bruce” Conder

James “Bruce” Conder of Owensboro, KY, born on September 26, 1939, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024. Known for his exceptional skills in woodworking, Bruce created beautiful cabinets, toys, and furniture that brought joy to many. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and later worked at the Executive Inn for many years until its closure. Bruce was well-loved for his sense of humor and lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Conder, his parents, Herbert and Helen Conder, and his brothers Reid, Bobby, Tommy, Jack, and Larry Conder.

Bruce is survived by his loving daughters, Kathy Small (Charley) of Owensboro, KY and Lisa Thomas (Nick) of Coxs Creek, KY; his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas (Mattie)Small, Hunter Small, Jaymes Thomas, Kaleb Thomas, and Angelica Thomas; and two precious great-grandchildren, Myles(step), Shep, and Sunday. He also leaves behind his dear brothers, Kenneth Gene (Jeanette), Robert “Bud”; sister, Linda; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Norton’s Hospital and Hosparus Health in Louisville for their exceptional care.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
