Cathern Rose Chism Metcalfe Conkwright, age 90 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away at her residence on May 15, 2024. She was born in Meade County, KY on April 26, 1934, daughter of the late Prock and Rose Gonterman Chism. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxilliary. Cathern loved time with her family especially at the holidays. She enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening, canning, playing Rook, Bingo and Bunco.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joe Conkwright, daughters Angie Medley and Jennifer Sago, grandson Zack Medley, daughter-in-law Sandy Smith, brother-in-law Rick Medley, stepson Billy Joe Conkwright and brothers Phillip and Lawrence Chism.
Cathern is survived by her sons Jeff (Jill) Smith, Chuck (Connie) Metcalfe, Steve (Debbie) Metcalfe and Mark (Ruby) Metcalfe
son-in-law: Eddie “Hippy” Sago
stepdaughter: Sandy (Steve) Dowell
14 grandchildren, several step grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild due in October

In keeping with the wishes of Cathern, cremation was chosen with no services.
