Lola Henning Basham passed away on May 10, 2024, in Fishers, IN. She was born in Kingswood, KY on November 2, 1928, to Ambrose Owen and Edna Bruce Henning. She grew up in West View, KY, and graduated from Breckinridge County High School. She married Willard F. Basham, and they lived their working lives in Louisville, Kentucky. Upon retirement they returned home to Breckinridge County, KY. Lola was active in St. Romuald Catholic Church volunteering in various ministries. She enjoyed socializing with the local Red Hatters Chapter and visiting her many friends and family. Upon her husband’s passing she moved to Allisonville Meadows Assisted Living in Fishers, Indiana. Lola loved her family, and she loved life. She had many friends from all stages of life and a dedicated staff at Allisonville Meadows for whom she cared deeply.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Cassandra Marshall of Fishers, IN; her grandsons, Jeffrey Marshall of Fishers, IN and David Marshall of Las Vegas, NV; a nephew and his wife, Lew and Patty Niles of Hardinsburg, KY; a niece and her husband, Deanna and Charles Parker of Cave City, KY; a niece and her husband, Bobbie and Ray Puckett. Also, there are many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Willard F. (Billy) Basham, Jr., and nephews, Hoyt Butler and Larry Williams.
Cremation was chosen by Lola years ago. Visitation will be at St. Romuald Church, 394 Hwy 259, Hardinsburg, KY, on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 9:00-11:00am CDT with a funeral Mass following at 11:00am CDT. Lunch will be served in the Parish Hall immediately following Mass. Trent-Dowell Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Romuald Church will be appreciated.
