Faye Elizabeth Davis, 83, of Hawesville, KY passed away on April 28, 2024 at Hospice of Western Kentucky Hartford House in Owensboro Kentucky. She was born July 4, 1940 in Jewett, Cumberland, Illinois the youngest child of Otis M. and Mildred Francis (Spann) Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Wayne Davis, two brothers and one sister, Melba Emery, Joe Don and Robert

Faye is survived by her sisters, Mary Lou Ward and Julia (Chapman) Gunn. She was the cherished wife of Wayne Davis wed on November 8, 1958 and the wonderful mother of Carla Ann (Jerry) Van Cleve, David Wayne (Marsha) Davis, and Cynthia Renee (Tony) Byxbee. Nanny to five grandchildren, Jennifer Van Cleve, Jerry (Cherise) Van Cleve, Jessica (Daniel) Bianco, Peter Van Cleve Jr., and Tiffany (Charlas) McElhinny. She also had four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Aiden, Christopher, and Addyson.

Faye enjoyed traveling, gardening, canning, and loved genealogy. She was a member of several genealogical societies and founding member of the National Society Descendants of Early First Responders and held the position of registrar. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star which she loved spending time with her sisters and brothers, harassing a few of them on occasion and being spoiled by others. She visited all 50 states and about 20 countries, loved cruises as well as road trips and was always ready to go. Her last days were spent thanking her granddaughter, Tiffany and praising her Charlie for always being there for her when she needed them.

Following Faye’s wishes, no services are being held. Gibson & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with care.
