It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barry E. Wahler, 72, of Owensboro passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 9, 1951 in Owensboro to the late George and Margaret Tierney Wahler. He was a 1969 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School and went on to study at Owensboro Business College where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. He was an Army Veteran and was of the Catholic faith. As a teenager, he started working at Old Homestead and retired from Reliable Mechanical in Louisville, Kentucky after 42 years. Barry met the love of his life, Paula, when they were 10 years old. They were married on February 27, 1971. He enjoyed playing cards, horse racing, and using all the new cooking gadgets he could get to cook for his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George Bernard and Jeffrey Wahler; sister, Mary Beth Harrington; and very special nephews, Steve Wahler and Mike Settle.
Left with beautiful memories to cherish are his wife of 53 years, Paula Pate Wahler; children, Kristie Krampe (Boo), Melissa Wahler Payne, and Colby Wahler; five grandchildren, Tierney, Zhane, Breckley, Lexi, and Austin; four great-grandchildren, Hudson, Evy, Quill and Haylee Shay; sister, Kaye Wahler Hall; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation is from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
