
Patrick Ireland, 76, of Owensboro passed away April 10, 2024, at his home while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. He was born on July 9, 1947, to the late Edward Francis and Norma Jean Ireland.
Patrick worked for Field Packing Company as a research developer and was the creator of the Kentucky Legend Ham. Admired and respected in his field, Patrick loved his work. He was known to be a “horse whisperer” and cared for many over the years. He enjoyed trail riding and being outdoors. Patrick will be remembered for his love, care, and compassion. The quote, “Stand for what you believe in, even if it means you stand alone.”, is a testament to the life he lived.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Emily Touchstone; children, Joseph Ireland, Tracey Ireland, and Nicole Williams; step children, Thomas Glasgow, Bill Glasgow, and Katherine Porter; siblings, Michael Ireland, Debbie Cechman, Kathy Thomas, and Timothy Ireland; grandchildren, Elle Dye, Hudson Dye, Amelia Williams, Wynne Ireland, Luca Ireland, Sarah Bailey Glasgow, Meredith Kennedy Glasgow, Claire Elliott Glasgow, Mitchell Jordan Porter, Laura Nathalie Porter, Alexis Ellen Glasgow, Trevor Thomas Glasgow, and Claudia Nicole Glasgow; as well as many other loving family and friends.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Patrick.
