Alma Sherrell Shephard, 82, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, with her family by her side at Beaver Dam Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born September 4, 1941, in Hartford, Kentucky to the late William Everett Schroader and Maurine Leisure Schroader. Sherrell was a homemaker and member of Slaty Creek Baptist Church.
Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph “Franklin” Shephard; sisters, Barbara Leach, Rose Susan Geary, Mary White, Wanda Flippen and Wilma Rakestraw; brothers, Floyd Schroader and Elden Schroader and infant brother, William Lloyd Schroader.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons Mark (Susan) Shephard and Jeffery (Laura) Shephard both of Beaver Dam; daughter, Susan (Leonard) Baggett of Sacramento; grandchildren, Logan Baggett and Layton Evans; great grandchildren, Lucas Baggett and Lillian Baggett, and brother, Danny (Ann) Schroader of Utica as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 13, 2024, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Alton Crowe and Rev. Greg Hillard officiating. Burial will follow in Slaty Creek Cemetery. Friends may visit with Sherrell’s family from 4-8 PM Friday and 9 AM until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
