CENTRAL CITY – John S. “Squeaky” Blair, 75, of Central City, died Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 2:45AM at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Mr. Blair was born March 5, 1949 in Holmes Mill, KY. He was a Retired Coal Miner and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of Greenbrier Baptist Church. Mr. Blair was a graduate of the Evarts High School Class of 1969. He loved going to church, talking about God, coal mining, and fishing. Besides fishing, he enjoyed riding around strip roads looking for deer, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandsons. He was preceded in death by his father, Alto Blair; mother, Nadine Blair; brother, Alfonso Blair; sister, Betty Smith; and nephew, Jr. Blair.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn W. Blair; one son, Kelly Michael (Jeri) Blair of Beechmont; two grandchildren, Tanner Blair of Beechmont, and Austin (Melody) Blair of Bowling Green; two brothers, Roy (Amanda) Blair of Rose Hill, VA and Jerry Blair of Holmes Mill, KY; and a number of nieces and nephews that he loved spending time with.
Funeral services will be Saturday March 30, 2024 at 1PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Roger Reynolds officiating and Bro. Mike Blair assisting. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
