
Rondal “Ron” Wayne Calhoun, 83, of Owensboro, passed away March 8, 2024. He was born September 22, 1940, in Curdsville, Kentucky, to the late Arthur and Laura McCain Calhoun. Ron retired from Alcoa where he worked as a machinist for 30-plus years, and he was of the Catholic faith.
Ron enjoyed woodworking, politics, and history. He was proud of his hometown and how he was raised. Some of Ron’s other interests include genealogy and listening to classic country music. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and being a Pepaw was one of his greatest pride and joys.
Along with his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Lois Kassinger Calhoun, and his sister, Cindy Rice.
Ron is survived by his son, Scott Calhoun; grandchildren, Amanda (Tyler) Claycomb, Brennan Calhoun, Griffin Calhoun, and Peyton Calhoun; great-grandchildren, Addison Claycomb, Treyce Claycomb, Maddux Claycomb, Maxleigh Claycomb, and TyCarter Claycomb; and sister, Sheila (Howard) Hawthorne.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
