
Angela Henninger Schamore, age 87 of Hardinsburg, KY, passed away February 24, 2024 at Norton Hospital in Louisville. Angela was born in Breckinridge County, KY on May 28, 1936, daughter of the late Franklin Scott and Eula Ruth Bruce Henninger. She was a member of Hardinsburg United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. Angela served the public for many years working various jobs – the Breckinridge County Clerk’s Office, Hardinsburg City Council, the Mayor of Hardinsburg and the Farmers Bank where she greeted customers with a friendly smile. Angela was a very affectionate person and the first to give a hug or handshake. She loved to entertain family and friends in her home, which always meant having a bite to eat, reminisce, play cards and plenty of laughter. Angela loved her family beyond measure and was so proud of them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Lee Schamore, Sr. who died August 21, 2023 and her son-in-law Tony Thornton.
Angela is survived by 3 children: Denise Ann Thornton of Louisville, KY; Dennis Lee Schamore, Jr. and his wife Patte of Sellersburg, IN and Dean Alan Schamore of Hardinsburg, KY.
10 grandchildren: Kirstie Stevenson (Myles), Brad Thornton, Bryan Thornton (Jessica); Kody Thornton (Miranda); Ahna Schamore-Rice (Kevin), Sarah Schamore, Trent Schamore, Corey Schamore-Mikel (Zach), Deana Schamore and Danna Schamore
13 great grandchildren: Kaylee, Karlee, Kynlee, Shelby, Brady, Ryleigh, Bentley, Tate, Joanna, Henry, Zalan, Devianna and Alana
3 great great grandchildren: Connor, Charlotte and Cali
1 sister: Mary Jo Johnson (Bob) of Snellville, GA
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 1 PM with burial in the Cave Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 9:30 AM – 1 PM. All times are central.
