Helen Etta Helm, age 84 of Garfield, KY passed away February 18, 2024 at her residence. She was born in Decatur, IL on January 7, 1940. Helen was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Decatur. She enjoyed baking, watching soap operas and shopping. She loved her dog Dixie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas Helm, daughter Mary Lucas, granddaughter Charity Martin, great grandchild Harley Carwile, siblings Leonard, Gerald and Al Tibbs, Evelyn Stuggins.
Helen is survived by 3 children – Al (Suzy) Koonce of Thorntown,IN; Kenneth (Thea) Koonce of Cannelton, IN and Donna Robbins of Owensboro, KY
8 grandchildren – Shelby (Marlena) Koonce, Phillip (Anna) Koonce, Bobby Carwile, Kenny (Cassie) Koonce, Jr., Kathryn Koonce, Linda (Michael) Carpenter, Jason Triplett and Scott Triplett
14 great grandchildren – Ryan, Jordan, Maxwell, Oliver, Eden, Ryan, Alice Mae, Debra, Thomas, Hannah, Tyler, Ethan, River and Derrick
Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 10 am – 12 pm with cremation to follow. All times are central.
