Thomas “Tommy” Kendrick Fulkerson

Thomas “Tommy” Kendrick Fulkerson, 79, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024, at the Heartford House while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born August 19, 1944, in Owensboro, to the late Francis and Ellenora Kauffeld Fulkerson.

Tommy served in the National Guard and was the owner-operator of Tommy’s Backhoe Service. He was very strong in his faith and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. Tommy enjoyed having breakfast with his friends, woodworking, fishing, and was known as quite the jokester. He was an accomplished guitar player, was a member of several bands, and loved his time playing music with family and friends at his home.

Tommy truly enjoyed spending time gathering with his family, especially around the holidays, and teaching his grandchildren how to drive tractors.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Fulkerson; and a sister, Mary C. Stallings.

Tommy is survived by a son, Danny Fulkerson; his daughter, Kelly (Josh) Leibfreid; grandchildren, Bradley Fulkerson, Meagan Leibfreid, Mitchell Leibfreid, and Alexander “A.J.” Leibfreid; a brother, Preston (Barbara) Fulkerson; his fiancé, Patricia Sharp; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass for Mr. Fulkerson will be held at noon Friday at St Stephen Cathedral with Father John Vaughan officiating. Burial to follow in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 until 7 p.m. with prayers at 6:30 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, and also on Friday from 10 until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
