Beaver Dam- Rev. Jesse L. Tichenor, 89, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at The Heartford House in Owensboro. He was born on September 16, 1934 in Centertown, KY to the late William Elvis and Ertra Bishop Tichenor.
Bro. Jesse was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Had been a bi-vocational pastor in Ohio County for 53 years. He served as pastor of Smallhous Baptist Church, Independence Baptist Church, Woodwards Valley Baptist Church, Cool Springs Baptist Church and Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Besides being a pastor he also taught in Ohio County Schools for 33 years. One of his favorite things was listening to Southern Gospel Music.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Imogene Baize Tichenor on April 13, 2023.
Survivors include 3 daughters; Sheila (Darrell) Witten, Susan Tichenor and Pam (Brad) Sisk; 2 grandchildren Erin and Emily Sisk; brother Carroll Tichenor; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Carroll Moseley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 p.m. Monday and from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
