Paul Raybert West

Paul Raybert West, 56, of Knottsville, passed away on February 14, 2024 at home under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on September 8, 1967 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He retired from Domtar after 25 years. Paul enjoyed camping, riding side by sides, riding four-wheelers, card night with friends, bourbon, and handy work. He loved vacationing in the Smokies, football, UK basketball, NASCAR, and building anything with his hands while listening and singing along to retro county. His main focus in life was his family, especially his grandson Brayden.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul M. West; stepmother, Phyllis West; grandparents, Norma and Elmer Wilkey, and Bert Jackson; and his sister, Kristie West.

Survivors include his wife and the love of his life of 28 years, Lynn West; stepmother, Julie West; grandmother, Louise Jackson; two daughters, Kala Belcher (Jason) and Kara Bible (Andy); grandson, Brayden Mattingly; granddaughter, Hadley Belcher; grand-fur babies, Salem Anne and Luna Jade Bible, Liam and Kentucky Belcher; sister, Tina West-Dowell (Roger); brother, Bud West (Bonnie); stepsister, Jennifer Morgan (Brian); stepbrother, Jacob Tucker; a special niece, Shelbie White; special nephews, Mason White, Christian West, Brandon Adams (Logan) and many other nieces and nephews; special uncle, Norman West (Helene); mother-in-law, Cheryl Roberts; sister-in-law, Sheri White (Jason); several other family members and friends who loved him dearly; best friends, Brent Clary (Elizabeth), Buddy Lyons (Heather), and Chris Stone (Amanda); grandmother, Mary Childers; and Binx the cat who loved their daily ice cream dates.

Paul was loved by many and there was not a day that went by where he was not smiling, singing, joking around, and loving and loving everyone that he came in contact with.

A Celebration of Life will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
