Sylvia Estelle Blakeley 96, of the Semiway Community in McLean County, Kentucky passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 at her home. Sylvia Estelle Perrin was born April 26, 1927 in Island, Kentucky to the late Preston Rhodes and Sobania Ruth Smith Perrin and was married to William Douglas Blakeley on April 20, 1946. Estelle’s journey through life was marked by a profound dedication to her family, work, and community, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.

During her career, Estelle retired from General Electric in Owensboro, where her diligence and commitment were appreciated by her colleagues. Her professional achievements were but one aspect of her life.

Estelle was an active member of the former New Cypress Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she not only worshipped but also served her community as an Elder. Her faith was an integral part of her life, guiding her actions and providing solace during times of hardship.

Above all, Estelle cherished the moments spent with her family. She reveled in the simple pleasure of family dinners and get-togethers, where laughter and stories filled the air. Her love for her family was the fabric that wove her life together, creating a tapestry of memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Estelle was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Blakeley, who died November 1, 1971; by a son, Jimmy R. Blakeley; by a grandson, James W. Blakeley; by a great-grandson, Jacob Hidenrite; by two sons-in-law, Doug Smith and Bobby Bennett; and by her brother, Felix Perrin. As Estelle reunites with her loved ones who have gone before her, may she rest in eternal peace, her legacy forever enshrined in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Estelle is survived by her two daughters, Jenny Smith of Semiway and Judy Blue (John) of Hanson; four grandchildren, Bill Smith (Donna), Cristina Smith Ellis, Jessica Williams (Drew), and Sara Hicks (Jason); six great-grandchildren, Mallory Boyken (Josh), Mason Hidenrite, Rachel Smith, Rawlin Williams, Sawyer Williams, and Seth Blakeley; and a great-great-grandson, Jack Boyken.
