William Wallace “Wally” Damron VI, 55, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at his home. He was born February 18, 1968 in Trigg County. Wally was the owner of W. D. Insurance Agency and a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. He was a great husband, father, son, and brother, and loved to sing and dance. He was quite a jokester, an avid U.K. sports fan, enjoyed going on family trips, and grilling out. Wally received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Brescia College. He was preceded in death by his father, William Wallace Damron V in 2021.
Surviving are his wife of 5 years, Jacky Damron; his son, William Wallace “Liam” Damron VII; his mother, Anne Damron of Owensboro; two sisters, Dyan Damron of Owensboro and Tollie Medley (Michael) of Dunwoody, Georgia; a nephew, Mick Medley, and two nieces, Carolanne Medley and Vivian Medley, all of Dunwoody.
The funeral Mass will be 10 AM Tuesday, February 13, at St. Stephen Cathedral with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. The visitation will be 2 PM until 6:30 PM on Monday with prayers at 6:30 PM and from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
