Sheila Slaven Gunterman, 70, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at her home. She was born October 25, 1953 in Owensboro to Anita Travis and the late Joseph Slaven. Sheila was a funny, loving, charismatic daughter, mother and grandmother. Sheila drove the OTS buses for the City of Owensboro for many years and was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing, playing board games with her family and family get-togethers such as holidays. Her favorite was watching the kids let fireworks off on 4th of July.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Kaye Wedding; and her husband, Carl Edward Gunterman.
Sheila is survived by her mother Anita Travis; three children, Harold “Lee” Wigginton Jr. and daughter-in-law, DeAnn Wigginton from Lynn Indiana; twins, Sandra Flores and a son-in-law, Juan Flores and Angela Zamora; her domestic partner, Fransisco Ortiz from Evansville Indiana; 14 grandchildren, Jessica Wettstain, Joseph Rubsam, James Pate, Jacob Cameron, Ismael Herrera, Bacilia Herrera, Kassiday Flores, Eloissa Olivia Flores, Zotera Jackson, Reinaldo Argueta and Vanessa Johnson, all from Owensboro and Maree Hartman from Lynn Indiana, Paris Ward and Londen Wedding; and several great-grandchildren.
Come join us as we celebrate the life of Sheila. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2023 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 am till time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
