SACRAMENTO – Jennifer Louise (Shanks) Austin, 67, of Sacramento, died Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1:57PM at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville. Ms. Austin was born April 8, 1956 in Hopkins County. She was a homemaker, and an outdoorsy person, who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, riding golf carts, cooking out, and family get-togethers. Her CB Handle Name was “Whiskey Lady”. She was preceded in death by her parents, William, and Anna Shanks; and sisters, Rita Payton, and Debra Shanks.
She is survived by her companion/spouse, Tommy Sheets; daughter, Anna (Scott) Torres; son, Leroy William (Charlotte) Smith Jr.; grandchildren, Calvin Lee Davenport III, Brianna Nicole Davenport, Keena (Shawn) Nicole Scott, Dalton Wayne Smith, and Selena (Cody) Brooks; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sisters, Brenda (Marvin) Whitmer, Paulette (George) West, and Carlotta (Wayne) Biggs.
The funeral services will be Friday, February 9, 2024 at 1PM at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with Bro. Troy Slinker officiating. Burial in Heaven’s Gate Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from10AM-1PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
