Fern Garner Calvert died January 29, 2024 in Louisville, KY. She was a few weeks away from her 97th birthday. Born in Louisville, she graduated from Shawnee High School, attended Western Kentucky Teacher’s College, and taught elementary school for many years in Hardin, Breckinridge, and Bullitt counties. With her husband, John C. Calvert, she was a farmer, a licensed real estate broker, and a real estate developer in Breckinridge County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester M. and Irene Carman Garner, and her husband.
Fern is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline C. Kingsolver of Louisville, KY
her two grandchildren, Ashley Fern Giannattasio (Dan) and Andrew R. Kingsolver (Breanna) and her two great grandchildren, Joel Andrew Kingsolver and Julia Fern Giannattasio of Oldham County
Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 10 AM – 12 PM. The funeral service will begin at 12 PM. All times are central.
Burial will be at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens in Elizabethtown, KY.
