William ‘Bug’ Fulkerson

William ‘Bug’ Fulkerson 95, of Newburgh, Indiana, formerly of Livermore, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. William C. Fulkerson was born November 20, 1928 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late William and Flora Hatfield Fulkerson, was married to the former Bonnie Mae Hicks on July 5, 1952 until her death on January 31, 2003, was later married to the former Edwina Tanner on October 8, 2004, and was better known as ‘Bug’ to both his family and friends. Bug lived a life full of joy, love, and adventure.

Bug was known for his unwavering work ethic, a trait he carried throughout his life. After serving with dedication in the Army National Guard, he established a career as an auto mechanic. He was always tinkering, fixing, and improving—be it a neighbor’s car or a friend’s tractor.

A man with a deep appreciation for nature, Bug’s passion for the outdoors was infectious. His happiest moments were spent under the open sky, whether he was casting a line into a tranquil lake, navigating the rivers in his boat, or tracking wildlife through the forest. Camping trips were not merely a pastime but a source of serenity and joy for Bug. He found solace in the sounds of the wilderness, the warmth of a campfire, and the company of fellow nature enthusiasts.

His love for the outdoors was matched only by his commitment to community, as evidenced by his active involvement in various associations related to his interests and profession. Bug was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church in McLean County and was always willing to lend a hand or share his expertise, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Bug was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Elaine Fulkerson, who died November 10, 1954.

Bug is survived by his wife, Edwina Fulkerson; a step daughter, Marla Gaboian (Jon) of Newburgh; a step grandson; a step great-granddaughter; a brother, Sherman ‘Snowball’ Fulkerson of Island; and a sister, Diana Fulkerson of Greenville. Each family member brought a unique light into his life, and he cherished the moments spent with them, from the simplest of gatherings to the grandest of celebrations.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Livermore. Friends may visit with Bug’s family from 1:00 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. Sunday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel.
