Mildred Ann Hicks, 94, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest. She was born May 30, 1929 in Daviess County to the late Emmett and Lillie Condor Layman. Mildred retired as a Front End Supervisor from Kroger where she worked for 32 years. She was a member of Breckenridge Street United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy M. Hicks; daughters, Pamela Bollinger and Connie Winkler; brothers, J.W. Layman, Bill Layman and Delbert Layman; and sisters, Pauline Ambs, Louise Wells, and Margaret Gayeski.
Survivors include two sons, William E. Bollinger (Marna) of Lawrenceburg, KY and Roy M. Hicks, Jr. (Marie) of Calhoun; son-in-law, Paul Winkler of Philpot; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, January 26, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
