Mary Jo Rankin, age 77 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away January 13, 2024 at Hardinsburg Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Lebanon, KY on January 18, 1945, daughter of the late Mary Lucille Cooper and Joseph Earl Cecil. She was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church. Mary Jo was a registered nurse who retired from Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting, walking and flower gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Rankin, her son and daughter-in-law Robert Rankin, Jr. and Patricia Rankin, her sisters Anna Christine and Margaret Sue Cecil.
Mary Jo is survived by her daughter Amy Disney of Hardinsburg, KY
3 grandchildren: Whitney Phelps (Justin), Aaron Disney and Maggie Rankin
1 great granddaughter: Caroline Cooper Phelps
2 sisters: Dorothy Jean Shultz (Tommy) of Shepherdsville, KY and Nancy Louise Perry of Louisville, KY
Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 1 PM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM.
